Wisemiller named
PSAC East Player of the Week
KUTZTOWN,
PA. (December 14, 2009) –
Kutztown University senior guard Rachel Wisemiller
(Hazleton/Hazleton) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference (PSAC) East women’s basketball Player of the Week.
In Kutztown’s
only game last week, a 74-34 victory over Washington Adventist,
Wisemiller scored a team-high 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and
handed out five assists. Wisemiller also sank four 3-pointers
against the Shock. It was the third consecutive game in which
Wisemiller made at least three 3-pointers. Wisemiller has made 11
3-pointers in Kutztown’s last three games.
Kutztown has a
5-2 overall record. One of three Golden Bears to average double
figures, Wisemiller is tied for second on the team in scoring (10.4
points per game). She also averages 6.7 rebounds per game, which is
second on the team. Wisemiller is currently second in the PSAC in
blocked shots per game (1.2) and eighth in 3-pointers made per game
(2.0).
Wisemiller has
reached double digits in scoring five times this season. She scored
a season-high 17 points in an 80-76 defeat to 10th-ranked
California (Pa.). Wisemiller has 39 double-digit scoring games in
her career.
The Golden
Bears return to action next Tuesday December 22 when they visit Le
Moyne College in Syracuse for a 2 p.m. start.
