Kutztown 1, Mansfield 0
BOXSCORE
MANSFIELD,
Pa. -
Chelsea Bressler (fr. Cleona/Annville-Cleona) scored the
game's only goal to lead Kutztown University's women's soccer team
to a win over Mansfield Thursday afternoon.
After the teams battled to a
scoreless tie at halftime, Bressler's goal came at the 57:04 mark.
After that, the KU defense took over.
Steph Addleman (fr. Chambersburg/Chambersburg) had five
saves to record her seventh shutout of the season, one shy of KU's
single-season record.
"I want to congratulate this wonderful
group of players on a
remarkable regular season," KU head coach Erik Burstein said.
"The effort they have shown over the course of this season,
especially when we started the year 0-3-1, truly shows the
determination our program has to be successful both now and in the
future. I am honored to work with such a dedicated,
competitive and classy group of athletes."
Justine Segear had two saves for
the Mountaineers.
Kutztown, which has a bye on
Saturday's regular-season finale day, improves to
12-5-2 overall,
including a 6-4-2 record in the PSAC East.
KU will next play on
Tuesday, Nov. 4, in the PSAC quarterfinals at either West Chester or
Bloomsburg. The first-round playoff pairings will be
determined Saturday.
