Alyssa Hackelberg |
The freshman goalkeeper
etched her name in the KU record books with her 10th shutout of the
season in a 3-0 win over Shepherd on October 13. She tacked on
another shutout on Saturday October 17 with a 4-0 shutout over
Shippensburg.
Hackelberg and the Golden Bears have currently recorded seven
straight shutouts and the team is unbeaten in its last eight games,
sporting a 7-0-1 record in that span. She and the Golden Bears have
not allowed a goal since September 19, a span of 690 consecutive
minutes.
In the 2-0 week, Hackelberg made four
saves. She has made 62 saves on the season, compared to only seven
goals allowed.
Chelsea Deeter, BrieAnn Shipkowski,
Kelly Rozembersky and Laura Hearn have helped contribute
to Hackelberg's success in the net with their blanketing defense.
Chelsea Bressler leads the
offense with eight goals, while Shannon Pennock and Molly
Cooper have each recorded six goals.
The Golden Bears look to avenge an early
season loss when they travel to West Chester on Tuesday October, 20
at 3:30 p.m. to finish off a five game road trip. The Golden Bears
will host East Stroudsburg on Saturday October, 24 at 1 p.m. on
Keystone Field.
