Golden Bears fall in defensive battle
to Millersville

KUTZTOWN, Pa.
(October 28, 2009) — The Kutztown University women's soccer
team fell 2-1 in double overtime to Millersville in a Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference Eastern Division contest.

Millersville scored at 42 minutes
and 18 seconds to take a 1-0 lead into the half.
Stephanie Barnett (Blandon/Fleetwood) evened up the
contest with the help of
Julia DiFerdinando (Chadds Ford/Garnet Valley).
DiFerdinando shook the defense
passed over to Barnett who ripped the ball past the goalkeeper
into the lower right corner of the goal.
Each of the defenses stiffened up
and did not allow any goals for the next 44 minutes. The
offenses combined to only three shots in the overtime sessions.
Alyssa Hackelberg (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) made two saves
in goal for the Golden Bears.
Kutztown will wrap up the regular season
at home on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Bloomsburg. The Golden Bears
have already solidified a berth to the PSAC Championship, which will
start next week.
