Tips for Seeking an Appointment in Clinical Services
- Schedule an appointment via the new on-line scheduling system or by calling
the receptionist at 610-683-4082. This action will:
- Decrease your waiting time
- Eliminate class absence
- Reduce the amount of exposure to ill students who are in the waiting room
- If you are unable to keep an appointment, please cancel via the on-line
system or by calling to cancel. Appointments are limited, and the appointment slot can be assigned to another student seeking services.
- Bring your KU student ID with you and current health insurance information to
Clinical Services.
- Utilize "self-care" when appropriate (over-the-counter medications and first aid supplies).
- Take a pre-packaged "cold/flu care" bag when available.
- If you haven't scheduled an appointment, try to visit in the least busy hours between 8:00 and 11:00 am during the weekdays.
- If you want to be seen without an appointment in the evening Monday
through Thursday, arrive before 7:00 pm. The main entrance to
the Health & Wellness Center locks at 7:30 p.m. During the
weekend, the main entrance to the Health & Wellness Center locks at 5:30. Depending upon the nature of your visit, you may be given an appointment for the next day.
- Clinical Services is closed every Friday, between 12:00 and 2:00 p.m. for staff development sessions.
- When Clinical Services is closed, alert Public Safety & Police Services for any emergencies.
- Be sure to take an active role in your healthcare by:
- following the teaching instructions
- taking the medications as prescribed
- returning for follow-up visits, as needed
- practicing good health care habits (washing your hands frequently, eating well, getting enough exercise and sleep, maintaining healthy relationships, and reducing stress).
