Opportunities for Graduate-Level Practicum Students

The practicum in Counseling Psychology offered by the office of Counseling & Psychological Services is a two-semester practicum aimed at training master’s- and doctoral-level graduate students to provide professional psychological services in a university setting. Kutztown University is a multi-faceted university, originally founded in 1866, that offers a wide spectrum of programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The University has approximately 10,000 full-time and part-time students, including undergraduate and graduate divisions.

The practicum at Kutztown University offers students individual supervision with an experienced clinician and a group training experience on a weekly basis. The group training provides practicum students with information and training in numerous areas related to counseling. Case presentations allow practicum students to solicit different perspectives and feedback from fellow students and from an experienced counselor.

Practicum students are expected to follow Kutztown University's calendar for the academic year. This may require some students to start or end earlier or later than what is expected at their home institution.
