Will I receive my first choice for cycles?Cycles are assigned on a first-come first-served basis. The middle cycles usually fill up first. Back to TopWhen are the cycles?There are nine cycles in the month of June only and the dates can be found: here Back to TopWill I be picking my class schedule during CONNECTIONS?Freshman schedules are created based on their majors by an academic advisor. Students will be able to choose between certain electives during the CONNECTIONS program and ask any questions about their schedules. Back to TopWhat is an ARD?ARD stands for Advance Registration Deposit. This is the $200 deposit a student sends to KU, after being accepted, to indicate they plan to enroll as a student. Information about the CONNECTIONS program will be sent to students after the ARD has been received. Back to TopWhat should I bring to CONNECTIONS?Since CONNECTIONS is an overnight program students should bring bedding, towels, toiletries, and a change of clothing. It is also advised to bring a fan and shower shoes. All meals are provided during CONNECTIONS. Back to TopIs there housing on campus for families to stay in?We do not provide housing for families, however, there are several hotels surrounding the Kutztown area. Back to TopDo families interact with freshman during CONNECTIONS?Freshman CONNECTIONS and Family CONNECTIONS are two completely separate programs, students and families will separate when the student arrives at the residence hall for check-in. Back to TopWill I be allowed to leave CONNECTIONS during free time?All CONNECTIONS participants are expected to remain with the program, on campus, for the duration of the program. Back to TopCan family members sit in during the academic advising session?[No. Family members may not participate in the scheduling for freshmen. There will be student facilitators as well as an advisor present to help each student with any question they may have. Back to TopWhere can I park during CONNECTIONS?Incoming students can get dropped off or drive themselves to CONNECTIONS. Parking is available. No parking permit is necessary. Back to TopAm I required to stay in a residence hall during the CONNECTIONS summer orientation?Yes. All incoming students must stay in the residence halls during CONNECTIONS. Back to TopWhen will I receive my housing and roommate assignments?Housing and Residential Services complete the room and roommate assignment processes n the summer months. Students receive their housing roommate information from Online Student Services. Back to TopIs my orientation experience complete once I attend June CONNECTIONS?There is a mandatory program called Fall CONNECTIONS that is on Sunday, August 24, 2008. More information about this is available at CONNECTIONS and you will be sent a reminder in August. Back to TopWhat is Family Connections?Family CONNECTIONS is a program designed to assist family members of incoming students in their adjusting to having a student enrolled at KU. Information and resources are provided Students do not attend with their parents. Back to TopWhat is Connections?CONNECTIONS is the new student the new student orientation program at Kutztown University. For first-year students, the program takes place in June over the period of two days, including an overnight stay. Back to TopI am a commuter. Do I have to stay overnight?Staying overnight is a part of the CONNECTIONS experience. All attendees must stay overnight.
