The President's Roundtable on Alcohol and Drugs is a campus and community coalition
designed to enhance the quality of life for all members of the greater Kutztown community. The Roundtable is

Kutztown University collaborates with the Council on Chemical Abuse
to implement grant!
In collaboration with the Council on Chemical Abuse, Kutztown University
applied for and received the Pennsylvania Strategic Prevention Framework State
Incentive Grant. The goals of the grant are: to reduce the onset and
prevent the progression of substance abuse, including underage drinking;
to reduce the problems associated with substance abuse; and to build and
enhance infrastructure at the state and local levels. Three priorities
for grant funding are: 1) To prevent (reduce) the early initiation and
regular use of alcohol in middle and high schools; 2) to prevent
(reduce) drinking and driving among persons ages 16 through 21; and 3)
to reduce the illegal use and misuse of alcohol among persons ages 18
through 21. In July, the $431,000 funding over 4 years was awarded, and
the President’s Roundtable and the Council on Chemical Abuse will be
implementing strategies to address these priorities. The President’s
Roundtable is a campus and community coalition established in 1998. It
is committed to fostering social and environmental change through
campus-community partnerships that will result in healthy and
responsible decision-making regarding the legal use of alcohol and other
drugs. Over the next four years, a significant effort will be placed
upon enhancing evidence-based programs such as Brief Alcohol Screening &
Intervention of College Students (BASICS) and the AlcoholEdu Web-based
educational program.
