One of the core values cited in the University’s Core Values and Vision Statement documents has to do with fostering community collaboration and service: “As a member of the State System of Higher Education, the University must actively engage in serving the community, whether local, regional, state, national or global, in creative and collaborative ways to meet emerging social needs.” A similar theme can be found in the Vision Statement: “Kutztown University shall be the region’s center for public engagement by providing service to the region; being stewards of place, scholars in the community; developing institutional connections through partnerships; and promoting economic development of the community by providing a variety of programs and resources.”
