Temporary Position in Astronomy working with
Planetarium
Kutztown University enrolls approximately 10,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located
adjacent to the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural
setting and is within 30 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

The Department of Physical Sciences invites
applications for a temporary faculty position in Astronomy
commencing August 2008. A Master’s degree, or higher, in
Astronomy or a related field is required, with prior experience
teaching introductory or intermediate astronomy or astronomy related
courses at the college level. A commitment to undergraduate
teaching is expected. Teaching responsibilities will include both
lecture and laboratory sections of astronomy along with planetarium
presentation to visiting groups. The planetarium at Kutztown
University is a Spitz A3-P with an 80 seat theater. Prior
experience with a planetarium is preferable. The teaching load
consists of twenty-four contact hours per academic year. A
successful interview and a demonstration on teaching ability are
required.
