Tenure Track Position in Electronic Media

Kutztown University enrolls approximately 10,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located adjacent to the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting and is within 30 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.

The Department of Electronic Media invites applications for a tenure-track position in Electronic Media beginning in Fall 2008.  Because of the hands-on nature of the BS program, professional experience in the electronic media is required.  A terminal degree in a related field is preferred.  A Master’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience may be considered.  Experience with interactive video, streaming video and other “new media” highly desirable, as the Department seeks to update its course offerings in these areas.  Other courses may include video field production, video scriptwriting, communications law and the supervision of student interns.  Experience teaching graduate level courses desirable, as the successful candidate will be expected to teach some courses in the Department’s MS program.  The successful candidate will be expected to engage in research activities appropriate to the discipline.

Submit letter of application, official transcripts from all undergraduate and all graduate institutions attended, resume, non-returnable videotape or DVD portfolio of applicant’s production work and three names and addresses of references.  A successful interview and demonstration of abilities is required.  Send all application materials to: Liz Emmert, Search Committee, Department of Electronic Media, P.O. Box 730, Kutztown, PA 19530.  All complete applications will be reviewed immediately upon receipt.  Position will remain open until filled.

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer and actively solicits applications from women and minorities. Kutztown University of Pennsylvania is a member of the State System of Higher Education.
