Multiple Temporary Positions in Department of English

Kutztown University enrolls approximately 10,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located adjacent to the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting and is within 30 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.

The Department of English invites applications for multiple full-time temporary positions to teach literature, composition, and/or professional writing for the 2008-2009 academic year.  Master’s Degree in English or related field required; Ph.D. or advanced standing in doctoral program preferred.  One year of college-level teaching experience required.  The 4/4 teaching load may include composition, literature (e.g., Introduction to Literature, Early American literature, World literature, British literature, African American literature, and Literature and Film) and/or professional writing courses (e.g., Writing for the Workplace, Drama, Scientific Writing, and Journalism), depending on candidate’s expertise and department need.  Professional writing applicants must have related professional experience.  Successful interview and demonstration of relevant teaching ability required.  Salary competitive.
