Tenure-Track Position in Foreign Language

setting and is within 30 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

The Department of
Modern Language Studies invites applications for a tenure-track
position in Foreign Language Methodology (Student Teaching
Supervision)/Spanish, to begin August 2008. Requirements:
Ph.D. in Spanish or Spanish Linguistics preferred (individuals
within 1 year of completion of doctorate will be considered), with area of concentration
in Pedagogy, or Ed.D. in Foreign Language Methods (w/MA in Spanish);
native/near-native fluency; minimum three years college teaching or
equivalent; evidence of effective undergraduate teaching; successful
on-campus visit and classroom demonstration; and, commitment to
culturally diverse groups. Pluses: certification,
secondary/middle school teaching experience, experience with
technology and language standards, knowledge of French and/or
German. Position includes: teaching L2 methods experience and
upper/lower-level Spanish courses, practicum supervision.
