Temporary Positions in Mathematics

Kutztown University enrolls approximately 10,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located adjacent to the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting and is within 30 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.

Mathematics: Multiple full-time, one-year temporary Mathematics positions at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level starting in Fall 2008 with preference given to applicants showing evidence of strong teaching.  Positions involve teaching a variety of undergraduate Mathematics or Mathematics Education courses at the introductory level with a regular teaching load of 12 hours per week each semester.  A Ph.D. in one of the mathematical sciences is preferred and a master’s degree in one of the mathematical sciences is required. In addition to showing evidence of active growth in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related applied Mathematics area, applicants must demonstrate the ability to make contributions in teaching and service to the university.  One-year of college level teaching experience, or the equivalent, required.  A successful interview and a short expository talk are required.
