Tenure Track Position in Philosophy
Kutztown University enrolls approximately 10,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located
adjacent to the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural
setting and is within 30 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The University is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse
populations.
The Department of Philosophy invites
applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position
beginning in Fall 2008. Teaching load is four undergraduate
courses per semester. Area of Specialization: Open. Area of
Competence in one or more of the following: Feminist Philosophy;
Islamic or Indian Philosophy and Religion; Critical Thinking;
Science, Technology, and Society; African-American Philosophy;
Environmental Ethics; Business Ethics; Logic; Moral Theory.
This position is in addition to one previously
advertised this Fall that specified competency in a number of the
above areas. The department is thus seeking to fill two
tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level for
2008-2009. This second position will be filled by someone with
competency in areas not covered by the first hire. Individuals who
have previously submitted applications for the first position
advertised this Fall will be considered for this second position.
Ph.D. in Philosophy and three years of
college-level teaching experience required. A successful interview
and classroom demonstration (or its equivalent) are required. Send
