Tenure Track Position in Secondary Education

Kutztown University enrolls approximately 10,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located adjacent to the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting and is within 30 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.  

Secondary Education Faculty Positions: Kutztown University, Kutztown, PA seeks applicants for one tenure-track positions for Fall 2008 teaching classes of foundations of education, freshmen seminar, graduate classes, and possible professional semester courses.  The starting date is August 25, 2008.

General requirements: ABD with awarding of Ph.D. within one year of hire required; Ph.D. preferred.  At least three years of classroom teaching experience in a middle school or high school in an American school setting; and completion of successful interview and demonstration lesson.  Official or unofficial graduate and undergraduate transcripts, a copy of teaching certification(s) acquired from the United States, three current letters of recommendation, vita and letter of interest must be submitted to the search committee chairperson.  A complete packet of materials must be received before the committee can review the application.

Specific requirements: Applicants must be qualified to teach about various aspects of the education of students in basic education.  A focus on dealing with diverse populations, knowing PA guidelines and regulations, and knowing a variety of teaching strategies for student success are preferred.
