Tenure Track Position in Social Work
Kutztown University enrolls approximately 10,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located
adjacent to the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural
setting and is within 30 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The University is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse
populations.
Full-time (12-hour) tenure track position is
available beginning academic year 2008-09. Teach a range of
courses in a joint BSW/MSW program. Opportunities to participate in
the process of maintaining BSW and MSW accreditations. Experience
collegial support in community service and successful scholarship
including opportunities for research and development in
community-based mental health services. Collaborate with faculty in
developing theory for the program’s emerging practice perspective:
the Family in the Social Environment. Successful applicants should
be able to teach graduate and undergraduate courses.
The position available is:
Advanced Generalist Social Work: Teach
foundation and advanced generalist courses with a family in
environment focus. Demonstrated community service and scholarship
expected.
MSW with two years post-MSW practice and
one-year teaching experience are required. Demonstrated expertise
in research and development in mental health preferred. Ph.D. is
highly preferred; Ph.D. students who will complete doctoral degree
within one year of hiring may be considered. Appointments will be
made at Assistant Professor or Instructor ranks commensurate with
educational qualifications. Applications will be considered after
