Social Work Tenure Track Position

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 10,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.

The Department of Social Work at Kutztown University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position beginning Fall 2012.  Teach a range of courses in a joint BSW/MSW program.  The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in maintaining BSW and MSW accreditations and experience collegial support in community service and successful scholarship including opportunities for research and development in community-based mental health services.  Collaborate with faculty in developing theory for the program’s emerging practice perspective: the Family in the Social Environment.  Successful applicants should be able to teach graduate and undergraduate courses during both the week and weekend executive schedules.  Skills or willingness to develop skills teaching with online learning platforms required.  Teach foundation and advanced generalist courses in the area of policy-practice and research with a family-in-environment focus.  Demonstrated community service and a record of scholarship expected.

Doctorate in Social Work required; ABD may be considered with completion within one year of hire.  In addition, MSW with two years post-MSW practice experience and the equivalent of three years teaching experience required, both undergraduate and graduate level teaching experience preferred.  Demonstrated success in implementing a scholarly agenda expected.  Applications will be considered after curriculum vita, three current letters of recommendation, and transcripts have been received.  Successful interview and demonstration of teach effectiveness are required.
