Full Time Tenure-Track Positions in Nursing

Kutztown University enrolls approximately 10,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located adjacent to the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting and is within 30 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse populations.

 

The Department of Nursing invites applications for two full time tenure track faculty positions commencing August 2008. The two positions will be expected to teach courses in both a traditional classroom setting and online, in the undergraduate RN to BSN program and the M.S.N. program in nursing.  Teaching responsibilities may be assigned at the main campus in Kutztown or one of the satellite campuses.  Undergraduate course responsibilities may include the family, school nursing, multicultural nursing, community health, gerontological nursing.  Graduate course responsibilities may include curriculum development, quantitative research, adult education strategies, multi culture, clinical supervision, and thesis development.  The teaching load consists of 24 contact hours per academic year.  Successful interview and demonstration of teaching ability are required.  A doctorate in nursing or related field is preferred.  Or, MSN and enrolled in a doctoral program with completion within 3 years of hire date.  One year teaching experience in a baccalaureate program in nursing is preferred and experience with adult learners required.  Licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Pennsylvania, or eligibility for license required.
