Two Tenure Track Positions in Social Work
Kutztown University enrolls approximately 10,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs.
The University is located
adjacent to the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural
setting and is within 30 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The University is very interested in hiring employees who have had extensive experience with diverse
populations.
Two, full-time (12 hour)
positions are available for academic year 2008-09.
Teach a range of courses in a joint BSW/MSW program
Opportunities to participate in the process of maintaining BSW and
MSW accreditations. Experience collegial support in community
service and successful scholarship. Collaborate with faculty
in developing theory for the program's emerging practice
perspective: the family in the social environment. Successful
applicants should be able to teach multiple foundation and
introductory level courses. All faculty teach a combination of
graduate and undergraduate courses. Specific positions
available are:
1) Policy Practice: Teach
foundation and advanced level courses in policy, macro practice,
research methods, and family-centered policy practice
2)Advanced Generalist Social
Work Practice: Teach foundation and advance theory and practice
courses, including Human Behavior in the Social Environment (HBSE).
Expertise in social work with family preferred.
MSW with two years post MSW
practice experience and one year teaching experience are required,
graduate level teaching experience and proven record of scholarship
preferred. Doctorate in Social Work is highly preferred.
Doctoral students in Social Work with a clear completion plan may
be considered. Appointments will be made at Assistant
Professor or Instructor ranks commensurate with educational
qualifications. Applications will be considered after
