Why should I give to Kutztown University?
Your gift, in combination with others, does enhance the academic opportunities at KU to a competitive level. A gift to KU is one way to ensure that your degree remains strong and continues to be highly regarded by the community.

If I make a gift to Kutztown University, will my name be published as a donor?
Yes, unless you note otherwise. Listing the names of our donors is one way to recognize not only their generosity, but also their belief in KU and continued interest in higher education. Also, a donor recognition list often influences others to follow in the same footsteps and demonstrates to current students the importance of supporting their future alma mater.

Is it possible to make a multi-year pledge and spread payments over a few years?
Yes. Larger annual gifts or scholarship gifts such as the Presidential Scholarship, Endowed Scholarship or Current Scholarship can be paid over a period of years. For more information, Click here. For more information on annual gifts call 610-683-1394.

Can I make a gift directly to the department or athletic team that is of interest to me?
Yes, you may designate your gift for any academic area you choose or for any recognized student activity.

What is the difference between the Annual Fund and a capital campaign?
Money given to the annual fund is used right away to meet the greatest, immediate needs of the University. Capital Campaign gifts are used to meet longer term needs, typically building projects and endowments.

As a Pennsylvania taxpayer, do my taxes support public institutions of higher learning?
The percentage of support from the Commonwealth has been decreasing over the years. Kutztown University receives about 35% of its funding from the Commonwealth and must raise the remainder from private sources of support. Everyone agrees that scholarship availability is an important element in attracting students. However, Commonwealth support cannot be used to award any scholarships, which must be raised through private funds. Future appropriations will be based on the amount of money raised.

Can I pay my gift by credit card?
Yes! KU accepts VISA and Mastercard. We encourage donors to use their credit card. This process decreases our administrative costs and provides immediate feedback on the status of fund raising goals.

I'm celebrating my undergraduate reunion this year, where should I direct a reunion gift?
Reunion campaigns are conducted for the 25th and 50th year anniversary classes. The gifts from these campaigns create a scholarship for worthy KU students. Refer to the class gift section for more information.

    Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes! Your gift is tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

How does the Kutztown University Foundation recognize donors?
