It's 6 pm and the Weisenberger Alumni Center is buzzing with activity. What is going on? Just listen... "Hi! This is Bill calling from Kutztown University. I hope you have a few minutes to talk about campus changes and the Annual Fund!...Oh, Oh, I got a pledge! Great! We are doing really well tonight!" Fifteen other callers join in Bill's excitement as they contact KU alumni, current parents and friends to connect them back to campus and to generate enthusiasm for KU and the Annual Fund through the yearly phonathon. Our callers are dedicated to helping maintain and improve the KU experience for today's students and tomorrow's.
What is the phonathon? It is KU's way of contacting alumni and parents of current and former students to personally speak with them about changes at the university and about the Annual Fund. The phonathon is conducted from September through May, five nights a week from 6pm to 9pm. Our callers have increased alumni participation, talked to more people than ever and raised a record amount of money this year! This year over 40 student callers spoke with approximately 15,000 alumni and parents!
