Conference Survey Link  – Thank you for attending the 24th Annual HECBC Undergraduate Research and Creativity Conference on Saturday, April 22, 2023. We would appreciate if you could take the anonymous, post-conference survey which should take less than ten minutes of your time.

Description:

The annual Berks County Undergraduate Research & Creativity Conference allows students to share their research and creativity with each other and the community.  The conference is open to any undergraduate student seeking an opportunity to share their expertise with other scholars.

Presentation Opportunities:

       Papers, Posters, Visual Art, Performances

Participating students reap such benefits as:

  • Enhance your resume for employment and/or graduate school
  • Showcase your scholarly and creative work
  • Work closely with a faculty mentor
  • Connect with others in your field of interest
  • Observe and learn from other presenters
  • Refine your presentation skills
  • Learn from the keynote speaker

Student registration with abstract was due by Monday, March 13, 2023, by 4:00 pm. Registration is now closed.

Presentation Types:

Presentations can be in the form of a paper presentation, poster, artwork, film, or performance.

Paper

Paper presentations may focus on research in academic fields including but not limited to education, social sciences, natural sciences, the humanities, or business. Once your submission has been accepted and you have registered for the conference you will be assigned a room with others who are presenting on a similar subject. Please see the Guidelines and Student Presentation Schedule links for more information. These presentations are 10 minute talks with 5 minutes for questions from the audience. Students are assigned to a group time with other student presenters and are required to stay for the full session which is typically a one hour timeslot of 4 presentations.

Poster

Posters may focus on research in academic fields including but not limited to education, social sciences, natural sciences, the humanities, or business. Participants will mount posters on a poster panel and easel to be viewed by others for two hours. Your time will be confirmed after your submission has been received. Please see the Guidelines and Student Presentation Schedule links for additional information. Students are required to staff their display for the entire session time to be able to explain and answer questions from attendees.

Visual Artwork 

The categories for visual art include but are not limited to ceramics, design, drawing, mixed media, multi-media, painting, photography, printmaking, or sculpture. Visual art will be on display for the entire conference. You are responsible for setting up and removing your own work. Film Presentations

Film presentations are limited to 10 minutes. The exact location and time will be confirmed after we receive your CD or URL. Please see the Guidelines and Student Presentation Schedule links for further information.

Performances

Performances including but not limited to dance, music, poetry, fiction, or dramatic readings will be limited to 10 minutes. Exact time will be confirmed after we receive your creative writing submission, recording, or URL. Please note performance restrictions on the Guidelines page.
