Kutztown University has installed a campus-wide fiber network. Every telecommunications room on campus (each building has at least one telecommunications room) has 18 strands of fiber (12 multi-mode and 6 single-mode) running to it from the Network Operations Center (NOC). The network equipment in the NOC and each telecommunications room supporting the KU network is Nortel Networks equipment.

The academic buildings are running on a 10 Mbps Switched Ethernet Network. Each classroom is wired with at least two network drops, but not every drop is currently patched for use. If you need a specific classroom drop active, please contact the Help Center by E-mail or phone at 683-1511.

In 1998, Kutztown University created ResNet. ResNet utilizes ATM from the NOC to each residence hall telecommunications room.
