Richard S. Zera
Vice President for Information Technology
Rich is responsible for the planning and direction for the Division of Information Technology and building a shared vision at KU, as well as being actively involved in various leadership activities for the University and the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. Married to Marinda for more than 35 years, they have three grown children. Rich enjoys golfing, gardening and carpentry. He came to KU in 1998 after 22 years at Bowling Green State University in Ohio and several years in IT in industry. He has a bachelor's degree in Operations Research/Management Science from Kent State University and a Master's degree in Organization Development from Bowling Green State University.

Donna Killo
Executive Secretary
Donna assists the Vice President and other staff members of Kutztown University's Information
Technology department. She has worked ath KU since 2001 and served in the IT department since
2003. Before coming to KU, she worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.

Brenda Booz
Clerk Typist II
Brenda comes to us from Roland &
Roland, Inc. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition
Education from IUP. She and her husband David live in
the Kutztown area and have two sons in college. Her
hobbies include biking, kayaking and finding the
ultimate treasures antique shopping.

Robert Mitchell Freed
Assistant Vice President for Information Technology
At KU since 1992, Mitch is responsible for the campus-wide network and server infrastructure as well as the University web presence.
He holds a B.A. in Music Education from Moravian College and an M.Ed. from Lehigh University.
Prior to coming to KU, Mitch was a System Engineer for NYNEX Corporation.
He enjoys skiing, gardening, swimming, and is an avid Lehigh University football fan.

David Jones
Windows System Administrator
David spent 7 years in the U.S. Air Force. His
certifications include Cisco CCNA and Network +, and is
working on his B.S. in Information Technology
Management. David's hobbies are running, martial
arts and playing the guitar.

William C. Eben
ResNet Coordinator
Bill manages support for ResNet, and supervises a number of student workers.
He and his wife, Anne, have two children: Taylor and Joey . He has a bachelor of arts degree in English from Moravian College, and is a lover of all
sports. Prior to coming to KU, Bill served as Manager of User Support Services at Moravian College.

Scott C. Stamm
ResNet Specialist
Scott's responsibilities at KU include assisting resident students to get onto the network, and maintaining student computer labs.
He has been at KU for more than seven years. His hobbies include off road jeeping.

Kevin L. Schukraft
Manager of Network Technology
Kevin is responsible for maintenance and design of the Kutztown University network infrastructure including the wireless network. He received his bachelor of science in information technology at the University of Phoenix.
Kevin has been employed at KU since 1988.

Douglas Rhyner
Sr. Network Specialist
Doug is responsible for the Kutztown University
network infrastructure along with his supervisor, Kevin
Schukraft. He received his bachelors degree in
Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh
in 1980. He received his Masters degree in Electrical
Engineering from Lehigh University in 1984. His
certifications include: Microsoft MCSA, Cisco CCNA, A+ and
Network+ Certifications. He previously worked at Lucent
& Agere for 23 years and joined KU in the Summer of
2005. His hobby is playing the guitar, and he is
an Avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. |

Josh Heller
Sr. Network Specialist
Josh is responsible for the Kutztown University
network infrastructure along with his partner, Doug
Rhyner and manager, Kevin Schukraft. Josh
graduated from Kutztown University in the Spring of
1993 with a BS in Business Administration in a major
of Marketing. As an avid IT enthusiast, he continues
to enjoy new technological pursuits for both
business and pleasure. He is member of Huguenot
Masonic Lodge No. 377 in Kutztown, the Scottish Rite
and Rajah Shrine. Additionally, Josh enjoys reading,
ice hockey, playing the guitar and is also a
published author on Freemasonry.

Charles Moody
Telecommunications Coordinator
Charles is responsible
for coordinating new telephone purchases for the
offices, telephone adds/moves/and changes, telephone
call-accounting and long-distance billing, and for the
management of the
university telephone switching network and voice mail
system. He comes to Kutztown with extensive
previous experience in the telecommunications industry.
Charlie volunteers as a youth soccer coach and resides
locally with his family.

Michael A. Gifford
Director for Technology Support
Mike is responsible for managing the support of
faculty and staff computers and computer labs as well as
the IT Help Center.
Mike and his wife, Janice, live in Orwigsburg with their
three children, Jess, Rachel and Scott. He has a master of science degree in computer science from Shippensburg
University and a bachelor of science in secondary education mathematics
and computer science from Juniata College. Prior to coming to KU in 1999, Mike was a Network Generalist at Geisinger Health System in Danville.

Lou Rivera
Coordinator of Desktop Services
Louis has been employed at Kutztown since February 2002. A graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute., and a Comp TIA A+ certified technician his responsibilities include installation, maintenance and repairs of Microcomputers and Printers throughout the campus and maintaining their inventory. He is married to Sherry and has two sons Daneton (presently attending the University of Virginia) and Wade (student athlete for Parkland S.D.). Interests include his two Akita’s Brute and Nikki, Paintball, Bass Guitar, and all Physical Sports.

David Boyer
Macintosh Systems Administrator
Dave is responsible for all maintenance, upgrades, and consulting for Macintosh computers at Kutztown University including the computer labs in the Sharadin building and the Rohrbach Library. Before working at KU, he was employed as a Mac Specialist in Los Angeles for various motion picture production houses. Dave received his bachelor of sciences in Electronic Media from Kutztown University.

Max Keiper
Technology Support Specialist
Max's responsibilities include maintaining the personal
computer software and hardware
in the computer labs
across campus. Max is a familiar face on campus
transferring from the university One Card Office, where
he was instrumental in maintaining the network of one
card components. Max’s hobbies include going to the
beach, and performing as a local disk jockey. He
currently resides locally in Fleetwood.

Sharon L. Young
Coordinator of Client Support
Sharon has been at KU for over 17 years.
She is responsible for campus-wide hardware/software support,
managing the Help Center, and training classes on shortcuts and hints.
Sharon received a B.S. in Computer Information Science with a Math concentration from KU.
She is married to David and her interests include
camping, snowmobiling, gardening, and her two Siberian
Huskies, Max and Apache.

Marcus Forte
Help Center Specialist
Mark is from Pottsville and currently lives in
Schuylkill Haven. He has over 11 years of IT experience
including 2 years teaching IT at a college level. Mark
attended Kutztown University and has a degree in
Computer Science. In his spare time, he enjoys all
outdoor sports especially hiking. He also plays the
guitar and loves movies and television.

Kelly C. Smith
Manager of Web Technology
Kelly manages the design, production, and maintenance of Kutztown University's websites. She received her bachelor of arts degree in multimedia from Al Collins Graphic Design School. Prior to joining the team at KU, Kelly worked at Weslawn Graphic and was a freelance graphic designer. Kelly has won a number of awards for her work and is a published photographer.

Andy Mull
Web Developer
Andy assists in the
production and maintenance of Kutztown University’s
websites. A graduate of KU’s CIS program, Andrew has
spent his career in Internet-based industries. From ISPs
to web development companies, Andy brings a broad scope
of experience to Kutztown’s Information Technology
Division. Interests outside of work include fine
woodworking, auto
restoration and rally/hill climb racing. Andy currently
resides in
Blandon with his wife Julie and son
Rhys.

Michael Harbach
Coordinator for Classroom Technology
Michael
comes to Kutztown University after
nearly twenty years at Reading Area Community College,
where he served in numerous capacities. His teaching
resume includes courses in math, English, computer
hardware and software, and business courses. In his
spare time, Michael also enjoys freelance video
shooting, editing, and DVD mastering. Michael graduated
summa cum laude from Kutztown University in 2003 with a
B.S. in Electronic Media. He has a 9-year-old son
Brandon, who is also his best friend. Michael is glad to
be back with many of his old friends at KU, and is
looking forward to making many more new ones.

Walt Steuer
Smart Classroom SpecialistWalt
has been a technician in the Rohrbach Library AV Center
for the past five years. Effective 7 January 2008, Walt
joins Classroom Technology in the Information Technology
Division. Obviously, since Walt is coming to IT from
another campus area, there will be a collaborative
transition period, but with Walt’s background and
experience, he will surely be an asset from day one.
Throughout the fall semester, Classroom Technology was
at half-staff support levels and we are happy to have
TWO full-time staff members.

Rick has been employed at Kutztown University since
1994.
Prior to that Rick worked at MicroAge Computers in
West Reading.
Rick received a Bachelor's degree in
Electrical Engineering from Penn State University in
1991.
Rick is currently responsible for Information
Security here at the University.

Chris is a graduate of the KU CIS program, and most
recently worked for Dynamic Net Inc. in Wyomissing,
Pennsylvania. Chris also spent two years in IT at KU
working as a student Unix administrator.
