Compatibility Issue between Blackboard and IE 7 There are compatibility issues between Blackboard and Internet Explorer 7. The main problem is that text boxes do not show up on certain screens affecting your ability to manage your courses. Blackboard currently does not have a fix for this incorporated into their software. However, it is fairly easy to solve with a couple small changes to Internet Explorer. The primary change is to add Kutztown's Blackboard website as a trusted site. There are two smaller changes that are needed for quizzes. All of the new campus computers should automatically receive these changes; however, you may need to update your home computer. These changes are only needed for Internet Explorer 7 and are not need for Internet Explorer 6 or older. To make the necessary changes, follow these steps: 1. Open Internet Explorer 7 2. Near the top right corner of the window, click on “Tools” 3. Select the last item called “Internet Options” 4. Click on the second tab called “Security” 5. Click on the icon labeled “Internet” 6. Click on the button at the bottom called “Custom Level…” 7. Scroll about 80 percent of the way down to the section called “Scripting” 8. Find the item called “Allow Programmatic
Clipboard Access“ and make sure
it 12. Click on the button called “Sites” 13. Uncheck the item called “Require server verification
(https:) for all sites on this 14. In the text box, type http://blackboard.kutztown.edu and click “Add” 15. In the text box, type http://bb-kutztown.sytec.passhe.edu and click “Add” 16. In the text box type http://kutztown-bb.sytec.passhe.edu and click "Add" 17. Click "Close" 18. Click "OK" Once these changes are done, Blackboard should work properly with IE7.
