Quick Tutorial

KU Database

-         All typing is done in uppercase (all caps).

-         Only use the mouse to open/close the KU Database.

-         Use TAB key to move from field to field within the KU Database.

-         When logging on, if your password does not work or you tried more than 3 times within 30 minutes, call the Help Center at 31511 to have your password reset or your station unlocked.

-         Your password is good for only 30 days.  You will be reminded when its time to change your password.  After 30 days, your password is expired and has to be reset.

-         At the beginning of every term, when you log in, you will get the FERPA (Rights and Privacy Act) screen.  This must be filled out to continue.

-         After logging on, every screen must start with a transaction code (trancode) typed in the upper left corner (or HOME position) of the screen.  The HOME key places the cursor in the home position.

-         All trancodes are 6 characters or less.  If the trancode is 5 characters or less, you must press the spacebar before typing anything following the trancode.  Ex.  DSS JONES
