All typing is done
in uppercase (all caps).
-
Only use the mouse to open/close the KU Database.
-
Use TAB key to move from field to field within the KU
Database.
-
When logging on, if your password does not work or you tried
more than 3 times within 30 minutes, call the
Help
Center
at 31511 to have your password reset or your station unlocked.
-
Your password is good for only 30 days.
You will be reminded when its time to change your password.
After 30 days, your password is expired and has to be reset.
-
At the beginning of every term, when you log in, you will get
the FERPA (Rights and Privacy Act) screen.
This must be filled out to continue.

After logging on, every screen must start with a transaction
code (trancode) typed in the upper left corner (or HOME position) of the
screen. The HOME key
places the cursor in the home position.

All trancodes are 6 characters or less.
If the trancode is 5 characters or less, you must press the spacebar
before typing anything following the trancode.

Trancodes to remember:
MYTRAN – Alphabetical list of
trancodes you have access to.
MYDESC – One line description of trancodes you have access to.
HELP – Used to get online help for any trancode. Ex. HELP DSS
Keys to remember:
TAB – to jump cursor to different
fields on a screen
HOME – to jump cursor to upper left corner of window
Transmit – to send information typed on the screen
PC Users: Big (+) key on right side of keyboard.
MAC Users: ENTER key on right side of keyboard
To print a screen:
PC Users: press F12
MAC Users: press Apple and P keys at the
same time, then Return
To Log in:

PC
Users: Double Click on the KU Database icon in your Kutztown folder
MAC Users: Double Click on the KU icon in your Connections folder

On
the WELCOME screen,
* type in your usercode
* press the TAB key
* type your password
* Transmit
If at this point you get the FERPA screen, just press the TAB key
until the cursor is at the red triangles at the bottom of the screen.
Type an ‘X’ and transmit.

You
should now be at the main screen that says HELLO.
At this point you can proceed with any trancodes.
To change your password:
-
Type
PASCNG and transmit.
-
When
the screen appears, press TAB three times.
Type your current password.

Press
TAB and type a new password.
Passwords have to be at least 6 characters long and contain at
least one number.

Press
TAB and type your new password again.
-
Press
the HOME key and transmit. You
should get a message that your password has been changed and will be
effective the next time you log on.
To do grades:

Type
?ON PROFS and transmit.

Follow
the instructions on the screen to enter grades.
Keep in mind, when entering grades and you are finished with a
screen, all the commands are at the bottom of the screen for your next
step. Just tab down (if your
cursor is not already there) and press the letter for your next step and
transmit.
