How to Run
Virus Scans on Campus
On a PC:
-
Right click
on the Vshield icon in the lower right corner of your screen.
-
Left click on On-Demand Scan.
-
Click
on Scan Now, and the program will scan your files.
-
If
there are any viruses found, it will ask you to Clean, Move or Delete
them. Always try to Clean
the file first, just in case it’s a file you may want to keep.
If this does not work, try Move or lastly to Delete the infected
file.
-
After
this your virus should be gone. A
good suggestion would be, if it found any viruses, to run the virus scan
a second time to make sure they are gone.
On
a Mac:
-
The
virus scan program is called Virex and should be on your desktop in the
dock.
If it’s not on the desktop, you may find it under a Virex
folder on the Hard Drive or in the Applications folder.
-
Click on the Virex icon in the dock, or if in another folder, double
click on the icon.
-
Click on Diagnose. Select the Hard drive or a folder you want scanned
and click Scan.
-
If
a virus is found, click on repair. A
second scan is suggested to make sure it did not miss any viruses.
