Changes in Student Email System
We are excited to announce that on May 6th, 2009 our student email system will be upgraded to Microsoft Live@edu. The old email system will be shut-down on May 27, 2009
Some of the new features this system will bring are:
- Keep your Email for life. Your email account will remain active forever, you can keep the same address after you graduate.
- 10 GB Of Mailbox space (current email is only 20MB, Google only gives 7GB)
- Mobile Device Support (such as an iphone or other smartdevice)
- Collaboration Space (online workspace to organize and share your documents)
- Support for other browsers, not just Internet Explorer
For more information on these features take a look at the Live@edu web site at: http://my.liveatedu.com/
What changes do you need to make?
You will be given a username and password to access your Live@edu account. You will then need to update your email on sites such as Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Flicker as well as entries in your personal address book(s). All other university accounts for labs, blackboard, etc will not be effected.
Will my current email address change?
Yes, your new email address will be <username>@live.kutztown.edu. The student email address will officially be changed on May 6, 2009. This is after the spring semester ends. Between now and May 6, 2009, students will have the opportunity to setup their new account and move email from the old system to the new system. On May 6, 2009, the old email system will no longer accept new email and will instead route any new email to the @live.kutztown.edu account. This routing will be in place until January 30, 2010, which will give everyone sufficient time to convert to the new @live.kutztown.edu addresses.
How will I know what my new username, password and email address will be?
Initial passwords will be provided through Online Student Services
Will my existing email messages be automatically moved?
No, to move any emails to your Live@edu account, please refer to:
