PeopleSoft Transition News from a KU Card Perspective

Update: September 2011

Balances and transaction histories are now back online!

Use the links in the right sidebar on any KU Card page to access Bear Bucks, Dining Flex and meal plan balances and transactions via Online Student Services (log in using your network ID). This is the only portion of OSS made available, and it is temporary until a more permanent solution is in place.

Watch this site, our Facebook page (KUCard) or our twitter feed (@KUCard) for further information. We will also email current Bear Bucks account holders when we have news.

Update: 3/3/2011

The Bear Bucks Payment Form is back up and running, as is its twin, the Voluntary Flex Payment Form. Faculty and staff, ProfsOnline is also back in business.

Lost IDs can be suspended by our office with a phone call or a visit. IDs will only be reinstated if the cardholder comes in with the card (and looks like its picture).

Kutztown University is switching from a mainframe Student Information System to PeopleSoft, and that means important changes are coming soon.

DEPOSITS UNAVAILABLE 2/25/11-3/4/11

There will be a new student portal to replace Online Student Services, but first there will be a period of up to a week when Bear Bucks and Flex deposits will not be possible while the actual transition is made. That “blackout” period is scheduled to begin FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 25th at 4pm and extend THROUGH FRIDAY, MARCH 4TH. The Bear Bucks Payment Page (see below) may reopen early, so keep checking.

Faculty and staff will also be unable to make deposits during the "blackout" period, but ProfsOnline will return for use afterward until a faculty/staff PeopleSoft portal is ready.

DEPOSITS AFTER 3/4/11

Students, to make Bear Bucks deposits after the cutover, use the Bear Bucks Payment Page on the Bursar's Office web site at

https://portal.kutztown.edu/common/misc/ccmisc.asp?Action=bb

All you need to use it is your student ID number, your name and your birthdate. A similar page for Flex deposits is reportedly under construction. There is a link to the Bear Bucks deposit page on our home page (http://www.kutztown.edu/kucard/) under "For Friends and Family" in the right sidebar. We are updating the rest of our links to point to that page as well.

When deposits come back online, there will be a nonrefundable 2.65% convenience fee applied to all deposits made using MasterCard, American Express or Discover. KU recommends using e-Checks (online debit from your checking or savings account) for deposits, which carry no fees.

SUSPENDING CARDS

Finally, students will no longer be able to suspend and reinstate cards online once OSS is closed for business. This functionality will be re-established within the PeopleSoft portal when there is time to implement it. Please contact our office to suspend your card if you lose it. To reinstate a card, you must bring it to our office so we can verify your identity.

PASS IT ON

Please pass this information on to your friends and family who make Bear Bucks deposits. We will disable links into OSS and ProfsOnline from this web site when the "blackout" period begins.

Thanks for using Bear Bucks!
