Periodicals Circulation Policies
All periodicals whether bound, unbound, or in microform, are to be used within the library building.
Faculty and Staff
Special permission may be granted to KU Faculty, administrators, and professional staff to check out periodicals for a period not to exceed one week.
Students
Special permission may be granted to registered KU students to check out periodicals when their purpose cannot be realized within the confines of the library building. Such cases may include a class presentation, photography, illustrations, etc. The periodical can be checked out for one week only.
Procedures for Special Permission
- In order for a periodical to circulate, patrons must fill out the Special Permission Slip to be signed by a periodicals department staff member.
- The permission slip stays with the periodical in order to be shown at the circulation desk. A copy of the periodical request slip stays in the periodicals department.
Courtesy Borrowers
Courtesy borrowers are not entitled to use the laptops.
Fine Policy
The Periodicals Department follows the library policy for overdue materials and fines.
Lost/damaged Items Policy
The Periodicals Department follows the library policy for lost or damaged items.
