The AVC provides over forty Apple Macintosh microcomputer workstations to all KU faculty, staff, and students. The facility is equipped with thirty-five Apple's Power Mac G5s, and six Power Mac G4s, all running OS X (10.3.9). Peripheral devices include: laser printers (3), color laser printers (2), and scanners (10). Internet connectivity to the Kutztown University wireless network is throughout the area.

In order to gain optimum use of the university microcomputers in the Audiovisual Center, the following policies have been established.

  2. The Audiovisual Center staff will assist patrons in operating equipment to the best of their ability.

  4. Microcomputer equipment is not to be moved or altered.
  5. The patron is required to save files to their personal storage devices.
  6. Unattended (10 minutes) workstations will be made available to other users.
  7. Food and drink are not permitted at the microcomputer workstations.
  8. The AV staff cannot assume responsibility for lost work.

With a student lending policy form on file, the student only needs to present a valid KU ID to borrow materials and equipment from the AV Center. Laptops and digital cameras circulate on a first come basis and are due by midnight on the following day excluding exceptions to the regular schedule.

    Video Surveillance:

In order to maintain security for our students, staff, visitors and the security of the collections, the AV Center public area is monitored by a video surveillance system. Public Safety officers are able to monitor AV Center activity and to record and archive relevant events.
