Q. Is the library open to the general public?
A. Yes. Anyone can use library resources by coming to the library.
Q. Can members of the general public check out materials from the library?
A. Yes. Courtesy cards are issued to all adult citizens of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, who are not registered students or employees of Kutztown University. High school students under 18 years of age are required to have a parent or guardian co-sign the registration form.
Q. Why are some electronic resources available only on campus?
A. Access to individual electronic resources is determined by the vendors of the databases. Some vendors restrict access to specific computers rather than individual users. These databases are available only on campus.
Q. Why are most electronic resources not available for remote access by the general public?
A. Remote (off-campus) access is governed by the licensing contracts the Library must sign with each vendor. At this time licensing contract language stipulates off-campus use requiring passwords include ONLY students and employees of Kutztown University.
Q. Why are some journals on EBSCOhost in full text while others have just citations?
A. The information provided for each journal is determined by the contract between EBSCO and the individual journal.
