KU students, staff, and faculty
(current, emeriti, and Visiting) are never fined for overdue items.
Students who don't return an item by 30 days past its due date receive a notice that their records have been sealed until the item is returned. If your records are sealed, you can't register, receive grades or transcripts, or get your diploma. Call the library's Main Desk at 610-683-4480 to find out about clearing your record.
Courtesy Patrons with overdue items are charged ten cents per day per item up to a maximum of $10. Overdue fees are waived when you pay to replace an item, or provide a new copy of a lost item. Borrowing privileges suspended when a Courtesy Patron owes lost item fees.
Rohrbach Library is unable to accept cash. To pay for fines or for printing, Courtesy Patrons must make the payment in the KUCard office at the nearby Student Union Building and present the receipt at the Main Desk. Speak with the Main Desk to place holds or recalls: 610-683-4480. Though there is a 'Request' link for each item in the catalog, the library doesn't have a mechanism for routinely pulling holds or issuing recalls placed that way.
If you need an item in the catalog that is currently on loan, Rohrbach Library can, in some circumstances, contact the borrower for its return; this is called recalling an item. Ask at the Main Desk for help with this: 610-683-4480.
