Define: To explain what something means. Tell how it is like some things and different than other. Give examples when appropriate.

Describe: To tell all that you can about something in an organized way.

Discuss: To determine what the different sides are and tell about them. Discuss is similar to describe.

Evaluate: To give the positive and negative points, advantages, and disadvantages, pros and cons. Also, give your opinion of something.

Explain: To clearly tell the details about something or the reasons or causes for something.

Illustrate: To describe specific examples. Usually, the more examples you give, the better.

Relate: To tell how things are connected or what they have in common

Summarize: To present your information in your own words and in as few words as possible
