Audiovisual Center Transition: Fall 2011

The Department of Library Services recently took responsibility for the Audiovisual Center (AVC), formerly housed on the Ground Floor of Rohrbach Library. The collection, equipment, and services of the erstwhile AVC are now distributed throughout the library.

During the transition, library staff will strive to efficiently meet the audiovisual needs of the campus community. The main contact telephone for audiovisual services formerly handled by the AVC is 610-683-4480, the RL Information Commons desk.

Catalogers have largely completed the reclassification and processing of more than 5,000 DVDs to be shelved in a new location, now open to browsing, called Media which is located on the Second Floor of Rohrbach Library beside Room 207.

The reclassification continues apace. Pending completion of this project, DVDs awaiting reclassification and some other audiovisual materials will continue to be available and can be requested at the Information Commons desk.

You may also request course reserves, some audiovisual equipment, laminating, poster printing, and color printing services at the Information Commons desk.

The Ellison Die Cut system has been relocated to the Curriculum Materials Center. The Macintosh lab in Room 1 on the Ground Floor has been enhanced with new computer hardware and furnishings. This new Mixed-Environment Technology Hub brings PCs and Macs together in one location.
