The Voices & Choices Center (VCC) is the responsibility
of the Collection Development librarian who coordinates
the infusion of culture and diversity into the
day-to-day business of the library.
The library aims to
heighten the regard for diversity among our users.
Programming for diversity is incorporated into
collection development via relevant exhibits and
annotated bibliographies that
showcase resources.
The VCC promotes the
collection from the perspective of its cultural
strengths.
The
VCC offers a cluster of ongoing services to increase the
visibility of resources, increase the opportunity for
dialogue, and to increase the discovery directly related
to
human diversity within
the United States.
Our Mission
Meet the diversity of library users with
viable information resources and services
Our Motto
Affirm the
characteristics that make individuals remarkable!
Free people without
objective information or the means of acquiring it, are
but players in a prologue to a farce or a tragedy. (Adaptation
of a James Madison attribution) |
