ANNOUNCEMENTS
A reminder to parents and students: begin filing your 2008-09 FAFSA now. Kutztown University’s priority filing deadline is Feb. 15. Avoid missing critical deadlines by filing your FAFSA by our deadline.
File on the official Website at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Renewal FAFSA applications for 2008-09 will also be available on the Website after. To file online, the student and parent each need a PIN number which serves as the electronic signature for the FAFSA. If you filed online previously, you can use the U.S. Dept of Education assigned pin number. If this is your first time filing electronically, file for the assigned pin number at www.pin.ed.gov. We recommend that you keep the pin number in a safe place to use for subsequent academic years. The FAFSA worksheet is also available to provide guidance in completing the FAFSA. However, this does not take the place of filing the actual FAFSA.
Beginning this year, the FAFSA application in paper format is available only by calling the Federal Processing Center at 1-800-433-3243. Financial Aid Services will no longer have a supply of paper applications.
For additional questions on filing the FAFSA, contact ext. 3-4077 or financialaid@kutztown.edu

Black Heritage Month Celebration
In the spring of 1968, Dr. King went to Memphis, Tenn., to show support for black city workers striking for higher wages and better treatment. He was shot and killed as he stood on the balcony of his motel. He was 39 years old. The assassination led to a wave of riots in cities nationwide, and President Johnson declared a national day of mourning in his honor.
