NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS


The Kutztown University Chamber Winds and Wind Ensemble will present its first concert of the term Thursday, March 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Schaeffer Auditorium.  Featured composers will include Michael Daugherty, Vincent Persichetti, Richard Wagner and Jeffrey Hass.

The clinic in the Health Center will close at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 7, for the spring recess and resume normal hours at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 10.

Attention all faculty participating in May commencement ceremonies - Academic attire is required for all personnel who plan to march in the commencement processions. In keeping with KU pride, the University will provide maroon rental attire to all personnel needing to rent their regalia. REMINDER: Assessment Grant Program 

The Office of Assessment, with the support of the Office of the Provost, is pleased to announce a grant competition in support of new and ongoing learning-outcomes assessment efforts. A total of $20,000 per year has been committed to this initiative.

  • Deadline for grant proposal submission: March 31, 2008.
  • Funding decisions will be announced on, or before, April 18, 2008.

The K.U. Preparatory Academy (Academic Alliance, Upward Bound, and Upward Bound Math/Science) is seeking qualified male and female applicants to fill Tutor-Counselor (TC) positions for a residential summer program for high school students. TCs must attend a one-week training prior to the five-week program. Job responsibilities include: tutoring, counseling, and supervising high school students as well as planning/conducting recreational activities in the evenings. Candidates should be current KU college students or recent graduates. Minimum QPA of 2.5 and experience working with adolescents are preferred. Due to the daily work load, TCs may not be enrolled in Summer Session II classes. Come join us for fun, food and entertainment at the Sixth Annual St. Patty’s Day on the Hill, Monday, March 17. This event takes place in the Golden Bear Food Court from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. The first 400 students with KU ID will receive a free t-shirt. Breakfast will be served.


Attention All Females

Public Safety and Police Services is sponsoring a Rape, Aggression and Defense program (RAD). It is a three day class, in which the first two dates are mandatory and the third date is optional. The class will be held on March 20, 24, and 25, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. The program is free to all females. Race Relations Workshop

Brian Johnson, a certified trainer in Prejudice Reduction and Controversial Issues Process and founder and chief motivational educator of Manna Unlimited Motivations, will feature an interactive workshop on "Building a House for Diversity." The workshop will be held today in the Multipurpose Room, McFarland Student Union, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Association of Campus Events is sponsoring a Murder Mystery Dinner today. Doors open at 5 p.m. with dinner served at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for this free event can be obtained at the Information Desk in the McFarland Student Union. 


The Early Learning Center will host its annual open house for fall enrollment today from 6 to 8 p.m. in 117 Rickenbach. Tour the school and learn about the preschool (part-day/full day) and kindergarten (full day) programs. Children are encouraged to attend.

Kutztown University College Bowl

We are looking for Kutztown University’s finest students, to pull together teams of five and come compete against your fellow peers, for the first annual Kutztown University College Bowl. The event will take place on March 31, at 7 p.m., in the Multi-Purpose Room of the McFarland Student Union, and costs absolutely nothing for teams to enter and compete! Come to the Student Union and Involvement Services office, 153 McFarland Student Union, by March 21 to sign-up. Light refreshments will be served at the event and prizes will be awarded to the top team.
