Last chance to view the following DVDs that have been received for preview and are available in the AV Center until March 28:

"GLOBAL WARMING IN THE ARTIC: THE MELTING OF SVALBARD": Discusses the effects of global warming on the Arctic region's people, natural resources and wildlife.  Ice melt has now made it possible to completely sail around Svalbard, the northernmost civilization in the world.

"ON THIN ICE": Focuses on the life of ice-dependent seals as they lose their icy habitat to global warming. Climatologists predict all ice in the Arctic could be gone by 2050 if environmental toxins continue to be released at the present rate. Scientists are now using boats instead of snowmobiles to conduct their research in many Arctic areas.

"SHATTERED DREAMS": Discusses the reasons why the black community is on the verge of crisis and looks at possible solutions.

"WILL THE NILE WAR TAKE PLACE?": Potential conflicts over water rights are brewing between nations that share the Nile River Basin.

"FIGHT FOR OIL": Chronicles the past century in the Middle East as countries have struggled for power and wealth over acquisition and control of the region's oil reserves. This three part series discusses how oil has kept the Middle East at the center of world conflict for the last 100 years.
