The Diversity Fest Speaker's Series presents "The Century Project," a photography installation by Frank Cordelle, on Monday, March 24, to Thursday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Friday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in 250 McFarland Student Union. This is a walk-through installation of 25 years of photographing the female nude truthfully. The installation takes about 45 minutes to go through. 

Also, on Wednesday, March 26, at 7 p.m., Frank Cordelle will speak about his work in 223 McFarland Student Union.

"Day One On The Job…We’ve Got A Form For That!" will be held on Tuesday, March 25, from 11 to 11:50 a.m. in 223 McFarland Student Union. Are you prepared to make decisions and fill out paperwork on your first day at your new job? Topics to be covered will include information on health care/benefit options, INS requirements, tax forms, retirement/savings plans and other "food for thought" to help you prepare for the administrative "details" that most Human Resource Offices throw your way! 4-1-1: We Sleep, We Chalk, We ROCK!

RHA, Care Bears and the FAC invite you to this 24-hour program on the DMZ to be held from 12 p.m. on Friday, April 11, until 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 12. Artists wanted for shows in the Student Union Art Gallery. Gallery proposals are now being accepted for Fall 2008 shows. Proposals must be in by Monday, April 28, to be considered for the Fall 2008 semester. Along with the proposal, the artist should also include a typed artist statement and at least three images of example artwork. Applications can be found at the McFarland Student Union Information Desk, 274 McFarland Student Union, or online on the Student Union gallery website: http://www.kutztown.edu/divisions/studentservices/departments/msub/bdag/exhibitioninfo.asp

The position of Student Union Art Gallery Coordinator is open for the 2008/2009 academic school year. Job responsibilities include: Coordinate gallery operations in the fall and spring semester; select a diverse grouping of artists for the exhibitions (7 per semester); install the exhibitions, promote the exhibitions; have opening receptions; take down exhibitions; manage the exhibits outside the Bear’s Den at the Brick Wall; recommend artwork for the Permanent Collection in the McFarland Student Union Building; manage the Permanent Collection and archives of the gallery; maintain art gallery equipment, lighting systems and walls; ensure gallery website and mailing list is current and maintained. Dr. Ronnie Hsia, the Edwin Earle Sparks Professor of History at the Pennsylvania State University, will deliver the Kutztown University Department of History's Esther M. Willits Lecture on Monday, March 24, at 7 p.m. in the McFarland Student Union Building Alumni Auditorium. Hsia's presentation is "Between Empires: The Beginnings of the Jesuit Mission in Late 16th Century China."  The lecture is free and open to the public.

The Chambliss Faculty Research Award address will be presented at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, 2008 in Boehm 261.  The title of the talk is “The Dinosaur Shake Rattle and Roll” by Dr. Edward Simpson, department of physical sciences.  The talk will highlight recent work in southern Utah during the Cretaceous - time of the dinosaurs.  Highlighted will be our reconstruction of earthquakes and possible epicenters that shook, rattled and rolled these giants of the past.

ANNOUNCEMENTS


Auditions for "Just Wilde About Haring," a new play by Dr. Deryl Johnson, are taking place. The roles needed are: Oscar Wilde, Keith Haring, and Kay Haring. There are also several crew positions available. Scripts are available in the GLBTQ Resource Center and the Department of Speech Communication & Theatre.  Auditions are by appointment only. Please call 484-646-4111 for additional information and to schedule an audition. The rehearsal schedule is flexible and will begin March 30. The production dates are: May 1,2, and 3 at 7:30 p.m. in Rickenbach Theatre, and there is a possibility of New York performances.
