At the May 19 AFSCME Local 2234 meeting we will be voting on who will attend the International Convention July 27 to August 1 in San Francisco, California.

Summer Hours: As in the past, the university will initiate summer hours beginning Monday, May 12,  following Commencement.  These hours will remain in effect through Friday, August 22.  Summer hours will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a half-hour lunch.  Anyone who has a need to maintain the normal winter hours may submit a request through their supervisory line.  Approval for such a request will be at the Vice Presidential level.  Enjoy your summer!

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom Discount Tickets. Take advantage of reduced rates and enjoy a summer break at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom. Tickets are valid any day during the 2008 operating season and provide admission to both parks. Ticket prices are $29.50 for regular adult admission and $17.50 for junior/senior admission. Adults are considered 48” or taller in shoes; juniors are age four or older and under 48” tall in shoes, seniors are age 62 or older. Stop by Student Union & Involvement Services (MSU 153) for tickets from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Finals week hours at the Multicultural Center:

The Multicultural Center will have extended hours during finals week. The hours will be:

Wednesday, May 7           8 a.m.- midnight

Thursday, May 8                8 a.m.- 7 p.m.

Friday, May 9                     8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

 

There will be no group or organization meetings held here during finals week. Any questions, please contact the Multicultural Center at  ext. 3-4807

CommUnity Yard Sale:  Put Your Junk in Our Trunk

A Community Yard Sale sponsored by OCAC will take place all week at the kitchen building in the Kutztown Fairgrounds. We encourage you to stop over and discover the treasures that have been found.  All proceeds will benefit FRIEND, INC.

Electronics recycling drive sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 6261. Saturday, May 10, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Weisenberg Elementary School, 2665 Golden Key Road, Kutztown, PA 19530. Businesses Welcome

Items accepted include: monitors, TVs, printers, CPUs, modems, keyboards, cell phones, mainframes, copiers, fax machines, typewriters, telephone PBX, CRTs, laptops, cables, terminals, lab equipment, VCR's, stereos and radios, test equipment, medical equipment, toner cartridges,  inkjet cartridges, printer fusers and more. 

Televisions cost $5 per set to recycle.  All other materials are accepted at a suggested donation of $5 per carload. 

Directions: From Interstate 78, take the Route 863 North exit. Continue on Route 863 / Golden Key Road for approximately one mile. Weisenberg Elementary will be on your right. For further information, e-mail kackley@kutztown.edu
