KUR is your news leader in northeastern Berks. How many of you out there are on Twitter and regularly follow people? If you already are a Twitter user, make sure you're following us at http://twitter.com/kuradio. If you're not already a Twitter user, make sure to join (if for no other reason than to follow us).

Why? Per popular request, and in our ongoing effort to be northeastern Berks County's news leader in addition to entertainment, KUR is now sending out news and traffic bulletins over Twitter, along with our regular station updates. We will not be sending those news and traffic bulletins over Facebook, based on the way Facebook fan pages make groups send out group e-mails. We will be keeping our Facebook fan page, though, for other purposes. As an added incentive to begin following us on Twitter, when you sign up to follow us, we'll enter your name in a drawing for a KUR Christmas Prize Pack full of all sorts of goodies.

So do it now and don't delay. The city papers and radio stations do their best to cover news in our area and we respect that, but some of those smaller stories like icy local roads sometimes get missed. KUR News on Twitter will do our best to fill that niche when we can’t be in the news room to get it on-the-air as fast as we’d like.

Join today! http://twitter.com/kuradio
