Construction Update: A change in the buildings
that will be included in the electrical shutdown scheduled to start at 7
a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 are as follows: new section of Stratton
Administration Center will be included in the shutdown, as well as Beck
Hall, Deatrick Hall, and the old steam plant. Old Main and Risley Hall will
remain powered, and will not be affected by this shutdown. We apologize for
any inconvenience. Once again, if you work in the Administration Center,
please turn off your computer by the close of business on Friday.

This week's McFarland Student Union Movie Series film "Orphan" will be shown in the McFarland Student Union Alumni Auditorium on tonight at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2 and 8 p.m. Admission is free! KU Presents! Yamato: The Drummers of Japan -Matsuri-“Fiesta!” Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Schaeffer Auditorium. Back by popular demand, the Japanese drummers are back with their new show, Matsuri-“Fiesta!” Yamato has played to more than a million people, giving over 1,000 performances in about a dozen different countries. If you haven’t experienced the rhythmic sensation that will feast your eyes, heart, and soul don’t miss them this time around. Tickets are already selling fast. Come early for a free pre-concert event with the KU percussion ensemble at 6:30 p.m. in Schaeffer. This excellent on-campus jewel that annually performs world-wide, including an invitation to perform in Croatia this year, will lead an interactive performance/demonstration with associate professor of Music, Frank Kumor featuring ethnic, Asian and contemporary percussion instruments. They will also feature an excerpt from the upcoming “On the Boulevard” Event.
