Announcements

KUHonors Brunch Cancelled.
Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather heading in our direction for Friday and Saturday, we are forced to cancel our University Honors Brunch scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, Feb.  This event will not be rescheduled, but students will be advised to attend one of the three spring visitation days scheduled for Feb. 27, March 20 and April 10.  The Honors Program Office will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on each of these days.

Please notify anyone from your department that may have been planning on attending this event, that it has been cancelled.

Attention event organizers, the Office of University Relations is developing a method to assist in communicating the postponement and/or cancellation of university-sponsored events.  Since poor weather is in the imminent forecast, we have created the following Web page, http://www.kutztown.edu/weather/cancellations.asp, to serve as a method to announce cancellations.  It will be linked from “Announcements” on the main KU homepage.

If you cancel or postpone a university event and wish to publicize it on the above Web page, e-mail the cancellation and any rescheduling information you wish to communicate to Josh Leiboff at leiboff@kutztown.edu.  You must send from your kutztown.edu e-mail address and include your contact information.   Messages will be checked and processed throughout business hours, at 10 p.m. and again at 6:30 a.m.  The Web site will be updated with any submissions as soon as possible thereafter.  If you would like to be listed as an office that provides its own cancellation information on its own Web site, please e-mail this information to leiboff@kutztown.edu as well.

African American Celebration. The staff of the Multicultural Center invites you to African American Celebration on Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of McFarland Student Union. This year’s celebration will feature Reggie Wayne Morris Blues Band. Reggie hails from Baltimore and plays the blues with an infectious passion.  Having spent a great deal of his childhood on his grandparent’s farm outside of Charlottesville, VA, he was reared on Gospel at the local Southern Baptist Church. The Blues was also a big part of Reggie's family life.  Over the years, Reggie has developed an upbeat, rockin’ style Chicago-blues sound that pays homage to those who bore witness and spread the Blues News from generation to generation.  Reggie's music often reflects the moods and grooves of yesterday, but his contemporary lyrics have caught the attention of major music publishers, record companies and concert promoters.  The Reggie Wayne Morris Blues Band has gained a national audience in the United States and has recently accepted tour dates in Germany, Italy and throughout Europe. Limited soul food sample provided.
