MOVE THAT BUS!
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is coming to Berks County and we want YOU to be involved!
Join us as we help Ty Pennington and his colorful design team rebuild a run-down house for a deserving family in the area. Every episode, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition travels to an unsuspecting family’s home and sends them on a week-long vacation while the design team and the local community knock down the family’s home and completely rebuild the house—all within seven short days.
When the family returns from its vacation, they are greeted by a new home and a neighborhood of support. To make this seemingly impossible feat a reality, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and The Home Builders Association (HBA) of Berks County need plenty of volunteers to aid in building, general labor, clean-up, and other activities. KU is participating as a sponsor of the build.
The fun begins with the “Door Knock” on Thursday, July 29. The build will take place Friday, July 30 through the Reveal and Move that Bus on Thursday, August 5. To volunteer your time, donate to the cause, or to learn more about this exciting humanitarian event, please visit http://www.berksextremebuild.com/.
Help Kutztown University show its support, and spread the word to friends and family! We look forward to seeing you at the site!

Fire Pump Testing Today: The fire pumps in Dixon Hall, Deatrick Hall, Bonner Hall, and Old Main will be flow tested during the day on Thursday. During these brief tests, volumes of water will be flowed to test the capacity of the fire suppression pumps. Very temporary drops in water pressure may occur, but should rebound within 5 minutes. Additionally, large quantities of water may be encountered on Kutztown Road (in front of Old Main), and on Court Lane (behind Dixon). Questions about these tests should be directed to the EHS Office.

iService Desk/TMA Work Order System Changes- Facilities is currently working with Housing and Residential Services to enhance and streamline maintenance services to the residence halls for the fall semester. In order to improve our services to our residence hall students, new security procedures must be put into place on the iService Desk web site. Beginning on August 2, 2010, all faculty, staff, and students will be required to “log in” using a username and password prior to entering a work request. The username and password for faculty and staff access will be provided via faculty/staff email on August 1, 2010. Faculty and staff can also obtain the username and password by contacting the Facilities Work Control Center at x31594 or wcc@kutztown.edu. Thank you for your patience as we improve our services to our students.

As we begin a new fiscal year, we want to take this opportunity to remind all staff and faculty about certain travel reimbursement requirements. Please remember the following when submitting your travel expense form:
Before any travel occurs or money is spent, the traveler needs to complete a travel expense form and obtain authorization, in the form of a signature, from the following:
Additionally, all international travel must have approval from the Provost before any travel occurs.
As indicated above, failure to provide advance authorization, may result in your request being denied and will definitely result in a delay in processing your travel expense reimbursement.
If you are attending a seminar or workshop, an agenda needs to be attached to your travel expense form. You need to reduce your allowable per diem for any meals that are offered by the seminar and workshop.
We can only reimburse for the lower of shuttle, cab/car service, or car rental when traveling from the airport to your hotel destination.
Further information can be located on the back of the travel expense form, AP website http://www.kutztown.edu/admin/accounts/ , or by calling the Accounts Payable office at ext. 3-4147.
