Announcements

On behalf of the Department of Athletics, I would like to thank the departments and individuals who helped make our NCAA DII Football Playoff game on Saturday, Nov. 27 a tremendous event. I am afraid to start listing people/departments for fear that I will miss someone, but an event like this cannot be put together without everyone’s support. It was great to see the campus community get on-board and support what to this point has been the single most significant home athletic event on this campus. And to pull it off on a holiday weekend speaks volumes about the teamwork involved. I can’t express my thanks enough for everyone’s efforts. Thanks again and go Golden Bears!

Faculty and Staff Campaign
- You no doubt have noticed that the construction fence around the Sharadin Arts Building is down. Sharadin was the first building to be renovated through the current capital campaign, Campaign for Kutztown. And there is more to come.  Construction activity around Schaeffer Auditorium is planned to begin in late spring of 2011. In addition to these two buildings, the Merkey Barn has been brought to campus, and will be prepared for reassembly to serve as the focal point for the PA German Cultural Heritage Center. Other priorities of the campaign include increasing the number of endowed scholarships and support of the LinKU student leadership training program.

You should already have your invitation to participate
. Your kind consideration of a gift is very much appreciated and your gift is very important.  All of the campaign priorities benefit KU students.  As much as we wish that the commonwealth would pay all the construction costs for the buildings and scholarships, it just isn’t the reality. KU has an obligation to seek payment for our share of the construction cost and the Kutztown University Foundation needs to raise all of the scholarship funds through private support.

In addition to the Campaign for Kutztown, information about the Annual Fund or designated funds that you have supported on an annual basis is included in your proposal. A partial fund list can be found on the back of your pledge card.  Please call the Office of Development at x3-1394 if you have questions about funds not listed or anything else in the campaign. We look forward to hearing of your participation in the Faculty and Staff Campaign.  Thank you for your support to benefit students at Kutztown University.
