Announcements

I want to thank the campus community for their support of Wednesday’s Berks County Special Olympics event held on campus. We were the hosts to over 2,500 Special Olympic athletes, volunteers and supporters.

Having the ability to park over 50 school buses in the Stratton Administration parking lot made for a very safe and enjoyable day for all. I understand that this was a minor inconvenience to some, but seeing the smiles on the faces of the Special Olympic athletes was well worth it. Thank you again for your cooperation and understanding in helping us support the Special Olympics.
Terry L. Sitler, director, Conference Services

Kutztown University Director of Athletics Greg Bamberger was selected to participate in the NCAA Division II AD mentoring program.

The first round of mentors and mentees have been chosen for a new Division II program intended to develop promising minority and women athletics administrators. The first participants were confirmed after an April 21 meeting of NCAA and Division II Athletics Director Association officials.

The program, which was announced last year, is intended not only to develop athletics administrators, but also to increase the likelihood that they will pursue careers in Division II.

Both players helped the Golden Bears (13-4 overall) win their 10th PSAC title in 12 years last weekend by defeating Bloomsburg. Kutztown was also selected to compete in the NCAA Division II tournament for the 13th time in program history.
