TMA/iService Desk - iService Desk is an on-line work request system available to all campus customers to request Facilities services and support. Beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 23,  iService Desk will no longer require a username and password for access. You may recall that Facilities instituted a password on this system last fall while we worked to make this system available to residence hall students. We are happy to report that the implementation was successful. All residence hall occupants can now use iService Desk directly to report their maintenance needs. We appreciate your patience over the last academic year as we strived to implement this service for our students.

iService Desk can be accessed at http://tmatalk.kutztown.edu/. Please report any issues with iService Desk to the Facilities Work Control Center at x3-1594.

The Opening Day gathering will be held on Monday, Aug. 29, in Schaeffer Auditorium. A continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m. will precede the annual opening day address and presentations given by our union and university Senate leaders at 8 a.m.

The Arthur and Isabel Wiesenberger Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching will also be presented at this event. Please remember that college, division and department meetings scheduled for this day are held at the discretion of the appropriate leadership.

The Freshman Convocation Ceremony is on Sunday, Aug. 28, from 4:15 - 5 p.m. in Keystone Arena. This is a powerful event that allows us to introduce freshmen formally into academic life at K.U. Regalia is worn by the platform party, but is not required by others in attendance.

If you have not yet registered, please register online at www.kutztown.edu/openingday

STUDENT SHOWS TO RETURN SOON - You've waited all summer!

Student specialty shows begin again Monday, Sept. 12. KUR's lineup (to be released all in due time), will feature shows like never before. How about a car-themed show? How about several new rock and R&B shows? How about an even greater commitment to news and talk? Oh yes, it's all coming this fall beginning Sept. 12. Stay tuned to our website, our Facebook, our Twitter, and of course on-air for details as we draw closer!

ATHLETICS

Kutztown field hockey picked third in PSAC East preseason coaches’ poll - The Kutztown University field hockey team was picked third in the Eastern Division of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) preseason coaches’ poll released Monday morning. The Office of New Student Programs will be welcoming about 80 orientation leaders from Albright College to campus from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23. They will be doing a scavenger hunt of sorts through out campus as small groups. This is an exchange of ideas program with KU’s CONNECTIONS program, in which the orientation leaders go to a different campus to remember what it is like as a new freshman on campus and finding their way around for the first time. At each building, they will also be doing a small ice breaker. There will be no interruption to university business, we just want to make the campus aware of this unique experience and exchange that is happening – please join us in welcoming these student leaders from Albright if you see them outside your building.
