Month art exhibit: Q&A and reception with the Artists
- Come to the Rohrbach Library this Thursday, Feb. 24, from 5 - 7 p.m. to hear
Sandi Turner and Ed Terrell talk about their artwork that is currently featured
in the “Success From the Past” exhibit in the Voices & Choices Center in the library. The art is part of the

a comic play by David Lindsay-Abaire,

Theatre, directed
by KU associate professor Roxane Rix. The main
character,
Claire,
is an amnesiac who wakes each morning as a blank slate which her husband and son
must fill with the details of her life. When a strange man wants to rescue
Claire from her murderous husband, the chase is on. The comic mayhem that follows is
seen through the kaleidoscope of Claire's world, and culminates in revelations
and reversals that prove none of us are what we appear to be. Curtain
is at 8 p.m., or 2 p.m. for the final performance. Seating is limited in this
intimate performance space, so get your tickets early. For more information,

Bearfest 33 Carnival Booth Registration - Student Organizations are
invited to sponsor a booth at the Bearfest 33 carnival on Saturday, Apr. 16, 11
a.m. - 4 p.m. Many organizations have used this opportunity to highlight their
community involvement, or to fundraise. At last year’s Bearfest, over 30
organizations hosted booths. Booths are $20 per organization. On-site registration days

The semi-annual Inspection of fire sprinkler systems in residence
halls, education and general purpose buildings will be performed by
Kistler-O’Brien Fire Protection this week. While most work will be
transparent to the building occupants, inspection personnel may be observed
checking sprinkler components located in corridors, stairwells, mechanical rooms
and closets. The inspectors will be in company uniform displaying the Kistler-O’Brien
logo. We appreciate your cooperation during this important process to ensure
proper operation of these safety systems.

jazz sax player Dana Robbins whose list of credits include working with none
other than Barry Manilow in the 1980s.

Grammy Award-wining hip hop artist, author, and actor, Common
will present a
motivational lecture and discussion, titled,
Common Ground on Tuesday, Mar. 1 at
7 p.m. in Schaeffer Auditorium. He rose to
prominence as one of hip-hop's most poetic and respected lyricists.
He made his acting debut in Smokin’ Aces and since then has appeared in
Street Kings, Terminator Salvation , Date Night, and more recently in Just
Wright. His children’s book, I Like You
But I Love Me was recently nominated for an NAACP Image Award.
Common’s presentation speaks to the human spirit, human nature,
self-respect and love. The program is free, but tickets are required.

feature-length documentary by Edward J. Delaney and Steven Withrow explores the
art and impact of children’s literature. After the screening, co-producer Steven
Withrow will join Newbery Honor author Susan Campbell Bartoletti, award-winning
author/illustrator Matt Phelan, and bookseller Heather Hebert of Children’s Book
World for an exciting panel discussion. This event kicks off the Sara Mack
Memorial Lecture Series and is sponsored by the Rohrbach Library and the

Bursar Office closure notice - The Bursar Office will be closed
Friday, Feb. 25 from 8 - 10:30 a.m. for
training on the new student information system, PeopleSoft. As always, our
